Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag took a decisive step at his latest news conference on Friday, barring three media outlets from participating in the Q&A session.

Notably, reporters from the Sun, the Mirror, and the Manchester Evening News were denied the opportunity to ask questions during the event.

Despite their presence, these journalists had been informed beforehand that they would not be permitted to pose questions. The move comes amidst widespread criticism directed at United and Ten Hag following their FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry at Wembley last Sunday.

United had secured a commanding 3-0 lead against the Championship side, but surrendered it before eventually triumphing on penalties.

In response to the backlash, Ten Hag labeled the reaction to the match as “embarrasing” and “a disgrace.”

The decision echoes an earlier incident this season when the Dutchman barred journalists from four different media outlets, citing a lack of right of reply to negative coverage surrounding the club.

United currently are sixth in the Premier League and host relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday.
