A tragic incident unfolded in Matungulu, Machakos County, as a police officer lost his life when his vehicle was swept away by floodwaters in River Kware on Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses from the public noticed the officer’s car submerged in the river at approximately 4 p.m. They promptly alerted the authorities, leading to the retrieval of inspector Cyprian Kasili’s body from the vehicle.
Inspector kasili held the position of base commander for Ruai. According to a police report, it was determined that he was on his way back to his residence in Lowland Estate within the Kware area at the time of the incident.
Following the retrieval of the officer’s body, it was transported to Patjud Funeral Home pending an auopsy. Efforts to recover the submerged car continued into Thursday morning.
