In a harrowing development, Russia conducted an overnight drone assault on Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Dnipro regions, resulting in injuries to at least six individuals and substantial damage to critical infrastructure, commercial establishments, and residential buildings. Regional authorities confirmed this distressing news on Saturday.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces deployed 13 Shahed drones to target areas in the northeast and center of the country. Thankfully, the air defense units successfully intercepted and neutralized all incoming drones, as affirmed by the air force commander.
However, despite the successful defense, debris from the downed drones struck civilian targets in Kharkiv, inflicting injuries on four individuals and sparking a fire in an office building. The regional governor, Oleh Synehubov, shared via the Telegram messaging app that among the injured were a 13-year-old child and a woman, currently receiving treatment in hospital, with two other women receiving on-site medical attention. Emergency services promptly responded, managing to bring the fire under control.
In the industrial Dnipropetrovsk region, two individuals sustained injuries, as reported by Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor. Additionally, critical infrastructure facilities and three residential houses suffered damage as a result of the assault.
