KWS Warns Of Lions Roaming In Lang’ata

Nairobi residents are advised to be vigilant after reports of three lions wandering in Lang’ata.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWA) stated in a statement on Thursday that the lions were recently seen near Lang’ata Women’s Prison.

“Last evening, KWS received reports of the three lions allegedly sighted near Lang’ata Women’s Prison in Nairobi,” KWS said in the statement.

Despite mobilizing its Problem Animal Control team, the KWS was unable to locate the liions.

“The team conducted a thorough search of the area throughout the night. Despite their efforts, no lions were found. We continue to monitor the situation closely. Ensuring the safety of the public is out top priority,” said KWS.

“We urge residents to stay vigilant and report any wildlife sightings to the KWS 24-hour hotline number 0800 597 000 or Whatsapp 0723310508 for immediate intervention.”
