Reigning Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen, are on the brink of achieving an extraordinary feat as they gear up to face Atalanta in the Europa League final.
Under the tutelage of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen has had a stellar season, winning the Bundesliga title as invisibles and maintain an impressive unbeaten streak of 51 matches acrooss all competitions.
With the Europa League final in Dublin and a German Cup final against Kaiserslautern looming just three days later, they have their sights set on completing an Invincible Treble.
Atalanta, on the other hand, secured their place in their first-ever European final by overcoming Marseille in the semi-finals, after eliminating Liverpool in the knockout stages .Although they have not won a trophy since 1963, the Serie A outfit is eager to end their long wait for silverware.
The showdown between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen will take place at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, o May 22, 2024.
