GSU thumped APK in straight sets at Nyayo Stadium this afternoon, concluding their 2023-24 KVF men’s volleyball Premier League campaign with a commanding performance. GSU’s impressive display saw them win all sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-19), securing all three points and clinching the top seed position with a two-point lead over Kenya Prisons.

The match began with intense pressure, as both teams exchanged powerful spikes and agile serves. GSU quickly established their dominance with coordinated play and keen exploitation of APK’s weaknesses, leading to an easy win in the first set.

GSU’s dominance only grew as the match progressed. Their players moved in perfect synchrony, capitalizing on APK’s errors and maintaining a strong defense. GSU coach David Kirwa praised his team’s performance and emphasized the importance of continued improvement.

“We played well today,” Coach Kirwa remarked in the post-match interview. “But victory doesn’t mean we stop striving for improvement. We capitalized on APK’s mistakes, but we must continue to train relentlessly, pushing ourselves to reach greater heights.”

In another match at the same venue, Trailblazers overcame Kenya Army in straight sets, securing a spot above the soldiers on the log. Trailblazers’ seasoned players executed precise serves and dynamic attacks, quickly gaining momentum and outpacing their opponents. Despite their consistent efforts, the Kenya Army team struggled to match the Trailblazers’ pace, ultimately conceding defeat.

Kenya Army tactician Ali Muktar acknowledged the team’s progress despite the loss. “I am proud of our progress, and I feel these competitions help us become better at our craft,” he noted.
