The KCB Volleyball team secured their place in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League semi-finals by defeating Kenya Army 3-1 in the return leg match at Nyayo Indoor Arena.

The Lionesses dominated the early stages, winning the first two sets convincingly with scores of 25-17 and 25-16. Although facing a setback in the third set, which the Soldiers claimed with a score of 25-20, KCB bounced back strongly in the fourth set, ultimately clinching victory with a score of 25-22.

This victory adds to their earlier triumph in the first leg at Kasarani Stadium, where KCB swept Kenya Army 3-0 with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, and 25-18.

With the aggregate victory, the team advances to the semi-finals, where they are set to face DCI in a two-leg match series scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

KCB assistant coach David Kinga commended the team’s performance, stating, “We have successfully completed the first assignment and are now focused on the next challenge against DCI in the semi-finals this weekend.”

“I appreciate the ladies for their excellent performance in the quarters, and we aim to maintain this momentum as we strive to retain the title.”

At the forefront of KCB’s offensive efforts are Mariam Musa, Deborah Jesang, and Juliana Namutira, showcasing their prowess in the attack. Edith Wisa and Belindah Barasa play pivotal roles in the blocking department, anchoring the defense effectively.

The defensive line is fortified by liberos Linsey Jeruto and Josephine Nekesa, whose exceptional coverage has been instrumental in the team’s success.

“We have found a strong footing within the team, seamlessly rotating and supporting each other, which has greatly impacted our performance in the league,” added Kinga.
