Kylian Mbappe is set to make his official debut as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium next Tuesday, following the announcement by the Spanish giants. The confirmation came shortly after France, led by Mbappe, exited Euro 2024 in the semi-finals against Spain.

Mbappe, who will wear the number 9 shirt, will be presented at the Bernabeu at midday (1000 GMT) on Tuesday. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will welcome him for the signing of his five-year contract, as announced by the club on Wednesday.

During Euro 2024, Mbappe faced challenges, including breaking his nose in France’s opening match against Austria and missing a late opportunity in their 2-1 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.

Mbappe’s first competitive match for Real Madrid, the reigning Spanish and European champions, will likely be in their La Liga opener against Real Mallorca on the weekend of August 17/18. His debut at the Bernabeu is scheduled for the following week when Madrid hosts promoted Real Valladolid.

The French forward joins Real Madrid as a free agent, reportedly earning an annual salary of 15 million euros ($16.2 million), with additional bonuses tied to his arrival in Madrid totaling over 100 million euros.
