Five people lost their lives on Thursday afternoon in a road accident at Kagurumo area on the Murang’a-Kenol Road in Murang’a County. The collision involved a Toyota Wish vehicle, registration number KBM 461M, and a trailer, registration number KDL 214G.
According to police reports, the accident occurred when the car, traveling towards Murang’a from Kenol, was struck by the trailer, which failed to stay in its lane. “Due to the impact, the driver of the motor vehicle KBM 461M and four others were fatally injured,” the police report stated.
The bodies have been moved to the Murang’a morgue for identification and autopsy.
In the aftermath of the accident, local youth barricaded the road and burned tires, demanding the installation of a speed bump at the accident site.
