Gor Mahia, FKF Premier League champions, and FKF Cup winners Kenya Police FC have been drawn against El Merreikh FC Bentiu of South Sudan and Ethiopian Coffee, respectively, for the upcoming CAF inter-club competitions set to begin next month.
Gor Mahia, the record league champions, will return to continental football by facing El Merreikh FC Bentiu in the first preliminary round of the Champions League between August 16 and 18. Meanwhile, Kenya Police FC, making their debut on the continental stage, will commence their campaign away against Ethiopian Coffee.
K’Ogalo, previously barred from participating in continental competitions due to club licensing issues, will face reigning champions and Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the final qualification round for the group stages if they advance.
If Police FC progress, they will encounter Confederation Cup defending champions Zamalek of Egypt. Gor Mahia will travel to Juba for the first leg, while Police FC will begin their continental journey in Ethiopia.
