The upcoming Limuru 3 meeting, seen as a pivotal gathering addressing socio-economic and political concerns within the Mt. Kenya region, has sparked widespread attention from various political factions.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria emerged as one of the organizers of the event, despite the agenda still shrouded in mystery.
“We started organising the Limuru 3 meeting with the late President Mwai Kibaki and that is why I am here to make the Limuru 3 meeting happen,” said Kuria.
He further elaborated that the Friday assembly aims to assemble professionals, businessmen, and representatives from religious organizations hailing from the Mt. Kenya region. Together, they will endeavor to delineate the trajectory for the region’s future.

Kuria also hinted at a significant focus on the discourse surrounding resource allocation during the Limuru III gathering, following Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s initiation of a discussion on the ‘one man, one vote, one shilling’ principle just last week.
“We are going to have that debate because it is justified. We must talk about how our people are being given resources under the one-man-one-vote-one-shilling,” said Kuria.
Azimio coalition leaders in the region led by Jeremiah Kioni and former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi, said that the meeting would mark the inception of anti-government demos protesting the substantial taxation outlined in the Finance Bill 2024.
“We are starting our revolution on Friday and it is part of our home-grown solutions to the high cost of living,” said Kioni.
“Already we are seeing people inviting themselves to our meeting….we have started doing accreditation for the attendees,” Muriithi added.
According to organizers, at least 30 political parties from the Mt. Kenya region have already confirmed attendance.
